I've taken an interest in kiteboarding and was wondering if Galveston,TX was an ideal place to do it?
The closest beach to me is in Galveston and I wanted to know if it was a good spot to start kiteboarding
Apparently, there are some places in Galveston to try kitesurfing. There's a place called xlkites.com that does lessons, and according to the galveston.com article, there are some beaches to try it at. Gulf Coast Kiteboarders Association http://www.gulfcoastkiteboarders.com has a forum, and theoretically they should have a list of places to ride, but they have a broken link on their site. Those links should give you enough to get started.
