I have a 3m Bullitt, and first time I used it I got lifted 10 feet in the air and dragged across a field ripping all the skin off my legs - nice.

Best tips are to fully familiarise with the operating instructions, and ensure that all the brake lines etc are properly attached.

To launch the kite for the first time, particularly if it's a bit blowy, I suggest you sit down facing the kite and allow it to pull you off the ground.

Get used to it without the mountain board first.

Wear safety gear like pads and a helmet - especially if you're going to use a board with it.
